—   BEFORE YOU APPLY

Nine steps to an informed choice

Know what to ask before choosing an education agent.

01

Check the university relationship

Does your university recognise the agent? Verify that the agent is a recognised recruitment partner of the university or institution you are applying to.

02

Know what support you receive

Ask which services are included and which are not.

03

Be clear about fees

Ask about service fees and additional charges before agreeing. Understand the costs before making a commitment.

UK home students: check student finance eligibility before starting admission processing.

04

Check your eligibility

Provide full and correct details of your nationality, residency, education, immigration status and financial circumstances.

Funding eligibility is decided by the relevant authority, such as Student Finance England, or by the university for scholarships.

05

Protect your information

Only submit documents and information necessary for your application.

Where will my data go, and how will it be used and shared?

06

Beware of unrealistic promises

An agent cannot guarantee outcomes they do not control.

Universities and the relevant authorities make these decisions.

07

Keep your own records

Keep copies of your applications, documents, emails, agreements and payment receipts.

Good records help you stay informed.

08

Ask • Understand • Then decide

Before enrolling, understand your course, tuition fees, funding arrangements, attendance requirements and terms and conditions.

Do not feel pressured to decide before you understand.

09

Your consent matters

An agent should only submit an application with your appropriate consent and agreement.

Your application. Your decision.
